Reminiscing Mother’s Love

If I were hanged on the highest hill, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! I know whose love would follow me still, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! If I were drowned in the deepest sea, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! I know whose tears would come down to me, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine! If I were damned of body and soul, I know whose prayers would make me whole, Mother o' mine, O mother o' mine!

Mother o' Mine RUDYARD KIPLING - 1865-1936

Best describes a mother’s love and the innate connection we all share as her love knows no bounds, for she is our humble companion on the journey we call life. Well! We can, as we must- romanticize the love and the sacrifices mothers make but we should, as we must- take a day out of our tedious urban lives to show gratitude- to every mother who spent nights awake nursing and taking care. To every mother, who worked extra hours to provide a quality life. To mothers who stuck by all the decisions you took wise or otherwise. To mothers, who took you under their wing and embraced you when the world was tough. For she is and will forever be our humble perennial North Star- shining light of acceptance and quiet love.

If we’re being realistic, we’ve all been a little tough on our dear mothers sometimes. Perhaps! We always expect more out of people we love. But as we grow older and wiser we learn to understand that she has always been enough -for you are because she is. And whilst we age we tend to understand and remember to be more like her.

We have all grown up watching our mothers being the glue to the family. We aspire to learn all she is capable of, for effortlessly she juggled several roles throughout life.

Her style and charms are embedded into our minds and hearts. While taking a walk down memory lane, reminiscing those times when all you wanted was to get your hands onto your mother’s closet and manage a drape out of your mom’s dupattas- perhaps, some of you were blessed for you managed to ruin an ironed and starched saree safely stacked in the trunks and got away with it. Needless, to mention how many times you’ve borrowed your mother’s sarees, since.

For all the times she denied you that one saree– she’d been safekeeping a family heirloom- for her mother saved it for her and she for you – beautiful handloom treasures passed on through generations of mothers that came before yours and the wisdom and responsibility they brought along.

The relationship between parents and children is tremendously powerful, scarcely to be comprehended in any rational way. This is why we at Frontier Raas celebrate family and values that connect us beyond the physical. Celebrating bonds for that is paramount in life. Celebrate every day like mother's day and pamper her, for even a thousand such days won't suffice your love for them.
